I think you are oversimplifying. It isn't necessarily Religions or Atheists but a matter of what their attitudes are in life. There are people that think there are better ways to live, so they tell you how to live, they complain, they preach, and they always have something to say. There are those that are grateful for their lives so they have no complaints and things COULD be better but they don't really want anything impossible. However, there are those that are apathetic. These people don't care about anything. It is dangerous to categorize the general population without proper observation. You should try reading up on some books on sociology. It'll answer most of your questions.

Hi Digger a awful lot of answer in such a short time. You must have upset someone. My Grandmother always told me forced prayers were bad for the soul. She was a devout Irish Roman Catholic and as far back as I can remember she never forced her beliefs on to any of us. I t was just enough for me to watch a woman who had come through so much in her life time hold on to a faith that she believed never failed her. She was 96 when she died and her finally words were "I am so tired now I am going on a long sleep. That final statement always left me wondering just what did she really believe. What ever you believe or do not believe is up to you. I personal would not stand for any one preaching to me about God or religion. I have my personal beliefs and like my Grandmother I will keep them between me and my God.

Hello,

(ANS) Why? because it takes REAL courage to be an atheist. Why? because atheists are intelligent people who use reason, logic and examine the evidence before making up their own minds before they decide if they believe in something.

Why? because atheists dont feel the need to push or convert or otherwise prostelatise others towards their way of thinking.

**Why? because atheists are NOT prepared to believe in something with just blind faith!! i.e. just because I say its true, or because others believe it to be the case. Or because it was written down in a book and some else says its a holli book because its got very very old stories written in it.

**Why? because religious people (believers or people of faith) feel deeply threatened by Atheists, feel deeply threatened by the idea that there isnt a god or might not be a god.

**Why? because doubting GOD is dangerous!! because self doubte in blind faith is dangerous too. Because what if someone nolonger is prepared to believe in just blind faith, what if blind faith isnt enough???

**Frankly, I have no belief in ANY religion (organised or otherwise) I think religion has become more of a problem, causes more suffering than it solves. But the cynical me says if it wasnt religion human beings would only find something else to go to war over??

Go well in the mystery of life!!

Ivan

While the prophets Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, anyone of them, where alive, people of that time had the advantage of listening to them and being witnesses of their practice to follow in their own life.

But now the prophets are not here with us. Muhammad was the last of them. As such there is an inherent duty of us, the followers, to give a chance of the light of the faith to the people who are deprived of it. At the end for the listeners, it is up to them if they want to believe in facts or not. They will be accordingly accounted for on the Day of Judgement.

That is why righteous people preach and atheist people will be among those whom the Creator has given respite for certain days in this world. After that they will be called upon to account for their deeds in this world. I am not saying an atheist cannot do any good work. Reality is good works without faith has no objective or end. It is a chaos because many of their misdeeds, which create chaos in this world, may also be good deeds in their eyes unless they study the heavenly books or follow a righteous person. Where there is no accountability, people can do whatever they like, good or bad.

Let's say one can drive very well but if one doesn't have the faith a particular road will lead one to one’s home then it is immaterial to him or her whether one drives well or not on that particular road, which will take one to one's home. One’s getting home will be a game of chance that one drives actually on that particular road leading to home. So quality of being good and knowing the right way, both are important. People do good deeds because they still have some faith in the minute corner of their heart. That faith has to be extended.

Again if one does not even know what one’s home is like at the end of the road, it will another game of chance that one will enter into his or her own home at the of the road by driving well. Therefore, believing the end along with means and being good is important too. Finally one can drive well, knows the way to go home and also knows the home how it looks like but if one does not actually drive well to go home, one will not be able to go home. Therefore doing good deeds based on faith is also important.

If I know God, I will try to know what my duties are to be finally before him and being successful. I will not only try but also deliver my duties. One of the foremost and important duties is to give other people light of the faith which they are deprived of or seeking in their inner most. May God, the One and Only One and the Unique, Who begets none nor is He begotten, bless us with the faith.

I've also heard "atheistic" (if that is a word) reproaches to believers to several responses I've read..

such as "Gods are just someone's fantasy"

" Actually the earth belongs to the invisible pink unicorn, the water belongs to the flying spaghetti monster, and the air belongs to Zeus. "

"smarten up you uneducated ignorant fool "

Now, I'm agnostic. I really don't think that people who claim to be atheists KNOW there is not a God. There is simply no proof of it.

My point being, no matter what a person's beliefs, he can still insult others who may or may not be wrong.

I'm totally atheist and have the same view as yourself.
I think religious people have the constant, sub consious need to assure them selves that what they are doing is actually the right thing to do and not a load of b*llocks.
It's like when you have a problem or concern going round in your head and you feel the need to ask advise. there preaching is there way of asking you to verify there uncertainty's about there dubious choice of life style.

I think that in terms of being on here we're all fair game for one another. But there's no need to be outright rude.

There are those of us who come here and give the religious people a bit of a poke and then they give it back and vice versa.

But, I'm pretty sure that the non-religous don't report the religious quite as much as they do us and usually for really benign things in my case. I've had a couple of reasonable questions and answers removed. It can't be that we are more tolerant in some ways can it? That's surely not right???

First of all, I've posted questions on here in the R&S section and I've had many rude answers from Athiests.

Secondly, if some of us post words from a scripture it's because it has given us hope or strength at a time in which we were having doubts or had lost hope.

Those who believe in GOD want to share their love, knowledge, hope and joy with everyone so that they may come to Christ at their end --- ATHIESTS, AGNOSTICS, or 'non-believers' only curse GOD and disregard His word because they haven't been brought up in a religious household, they've lost faith, they're satanists (evil) or they've lost someone or something very important to them.

Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs and opinions - they also have freedom to do what they wish. Just try to refrain from being so rude (as most athiests are on this site)

We can only hope that those who are "lost" find their way.

Because christians have been told that they MUST preach (convert others) or they will not get to heaven.

Now they're gonna yell and scream, and say I am a liar. That what I just said is not true - they dont get to heaven by converting others - but then if you tell them to stop, they say they cannot because they are commanded to preach.

So the only logical connection to make, is that they MUST convert others in order to get to heaven.

If it were not the rule then they would live their lives quietly and still get to heaven, but they refuse to do that.

Of course I agree with you totally.

athiests never get on with life, they hang around religious rooms all day being rude and complaining asking rude question just to instigate an argument. Notice what kind of pics they have up too. Ewwwww...By the way, I dont preach. I just answer some questions asked. If you dont want to believe then dont, I dont want to force you. God doesnt need your forced love. He wants real love not fake love.
