Don't flash your money, come and go with someone, do not come alone. Don't dress flashy, you do not want to be a target. Do not be pressured into drinking more than you want, do not do shots.
Be polite, and be yourself. Remember to be a gentleman toward the ladies. If a fight breaks out, get yourself and your friends out of the bar.
Eat a little something before you go, spread those 2 drinks out over a period of time.
Pick a drink your have had before, if possible. If you are a beer drinker, stick with that. Putting hard liquor in you if you have never had it is a 1+1 formula: hard liquor + never had it before =
drunken puking.
Don't dominate the server, wait your turn, and treat him/her with respect. They get enough drunken loutish behavior, they do not need a contribution from you.
Watch your back, watch your billfold, and watch your friends backs and billfolds for them, and they should do the same for you.
And if you are feeling the efects of drink, take a cab home, or call someone to come and get you.
And the most important rule of all: NEVER EVER ACCEPT A RIDE FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN IN A BAR, EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT BEEN DRINKING. NEVER TRUST A DESIGNATED DRIVER! Arrange transportation before you go.
Be safe, and have a nice time.

Since your new to drinking, don't try and outdrink the next person at the bar! Just have a couple of beers. Even if somebody taunts you and tries to persuade you to drink more don't do it! Just have what you can handle. And when you start feeling drunk, get up, pay your tab, go to the restroom, and go home. (if you drove to the bar, leave your car there - take a taxi home... the life you save may be your own!!!)

Also, be nice to the bartender. Always tip - leave at least $ 1 dollar per drink as a tip. Also, if the bartender is female, she will flirt with you, to get you to buy more drinks and to tip her more. Flirt back, but do NOT think that she likes you just because she's flirting with you. It's her JOB to make you feel "special" - that's why she's flirting with you, she already has a boyfriend, so don't make the mistake of getting a crush on her!!!

Have fun!!!

Sounds like you'll be fine, two drinks won't give you any ill effects.

In general, it's polite to tip the bartender at least a dollar per drink. If you look young, have your ID handy - they'll only need to check it once, or sometimes they check it at the door and you don't have to worry about it inside. If going with a group, people usually take turns buying rounds. If that puts you over your drinking limit, go with soda or water or club soda and lime, so you can keep drinking without going over your boundary.

Other than that, just avoid acting loud and obnoxious and you'll be fine.

Have a great time!

You should stick to the same drink the entire night. Mixing drinks can make you sick.. so if you order an armeretto sour (which is really good by the way) keep it like that.
Don't do like.. armeretto sour, then a mojito then a coke and rum... you'll get a bad hangover and instead of feeling buzzed or a little tipsy.. you're stomach will hurt and you'll want to leave.

Also, it's always a nice gesture if you tip the bar tender. 1 dollar is good enough. (that's what i usually tip on like a $6 drink)

Write down a few local cab companies phone numbers and keep them in your wallet, just in case. Since it March try a green beer, if the bar has any. Stick with beer, don't try any other drinks. Save that for the next time. If you get into a fight, try to knock out your opponent by hitting them in the jaw or choking them out. Good Luck.

Sure! Don't accept any free drinks, don't leave your drink unattended (either finish it, or throw it away, whether it's water or something stronger, before going to dance or to the bathroom) and listen to Dorothy Parker . . . .

She wrote my favorite poem:

I wish I could drink like a lady,
I'll have one or two at the most.
Three and I'm under the table,
Four and I'm under the host.

If you don't want to drink a lot, but people expect you to, get a dark colored glass bottle, and dump what ever is in it, and rinse it out really well, then fill it with water. then you can drink from it and if anyone tries to bring you another, insist that you finish what you have first.

Are you with friends or alone?

If you're with friends, take it in turns to buy, and don't force others to drink more than they can handle - behave similarly - take it easy.

If you're alone, don't become an easy target for the local drunk - get out quick, as you will have plenty of opportunity to imbibe later.

Stick to that one or two max. Be yourself and don't get into any
confrontations about politics, religion, or somebodys' mother.
Use your head, get something to eat and Don';t be there when
the bar closes. -- kick back and enjoy yourself

don't drink and drive
