I've been there done that too many times. I've been led on by apparently "casual flirting." The point of flirting is to see if they want to be with you because obviously they like you if they're flirting. But guys don't get it.
Unless they're direct with you in saying they want to be with you, you can never tell if their flirting is serious.

"flirting" is always self-fulfilling an ego. Whether is it to manipulate you or to make them feel better about themselves.
Flirting, by definition is : To make playfully romantic or sexual overtures.
Notice the word playful (not serious).

Flirting is just a form of playful communication and it's fun.
There is a difference between flirting and coming-on to somebody. I flirt with old ladies at the bus stop or in the supermarket, doesn't mean I want to bone them.

i think a person is flirting when they play with you. what i mean is they tease you. they never make a move on you. it starts getting serious when they call you on the phone . ask you out. wants to spend time with you.

You explain that they flirt with you a lot and ask them out straight...'do you fancy me or wot?' saves the waiting around and not knowing...

When you start touching or kissing, it's serious. When you start feeling uncomfortable, it's serious. When it lasts beyond a couple of comments at a party, it's serious.

If they do it to multiple girls they're probably faking it and trying to be cool(constipated, overconceded, outdated, loser). If people laugh when they "flirt" with you,they're teasing you
