beause they still like you and they want to either get you jealous or hate on you because they want you..otherwords, they are just plain immature if they do that, and not all do, some are mature enough to take it day by day

Because their angry, jealous, or were not ready to break up. They want to make your life as miserable as possible. Some girls do this by spreading rumors about you and treating you like crap. We do this is because its the only way we can feel better, talk to you, or because we just plan hate you. Just be nice about the breakup next time you break up with a girl. Even offer to be her friend. Then next time she gets mad at you, you can tell her you did that much. It can help avoid all the conflict that happens later on.

Usually it's to make you break up with them first. Then they don't feel guilty for hurting you.
