My hair feels thinner since I got layers. Has my actual hair density changed, or is it just the layers? Also, is it really bad to have thin to medium hair instead of thick?

your maybe thinner depending what your haircutter used. were they thinng shears knotchers straight razor . and sure layers are intended to make hair have thinner than before hair in lengths so if you wanted to take bulkness out a straight razor should be used.

It's just the layers.
It's also best to learn to like the kind of hair you have. You can't change it.
