I had really long hair, layered in the front and then I had it layered, in the back.... I regretted it, the front is great but the back became too thin and limp.... it took ages to grow back the layers, and still not like before. So think about what you do sometimes the hairdressers get excited and carried away... in terms of cut, get something done that you can grow out easily maybe 2-3 months... and as you like it you can add to it.... Definitely keep the length... long fringe (not too chunky if your hair's not too thick) and some more layers maybe starting at the shoulders if your hair is waist long (like me)
Going back to your ques... You can have a couple of caramel honey highlights and some really light ones maybe like silverey... and really few of like a light chocolate.....

DO NOT DO IT!- go for a suttle change that can be undone over a short time to see if you really want to do it that far! I had very long all one length and was devastated after it was cut to my shoulders and high lighted! Took 3 years and not even close to what it was- ask a hair stylist of ways to change your look without big cuts etc. If they are good then you can be a short haired- with bangs etc for a day or two to see if it is what you really want!

I prefer hair that is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like women are more often then not right, they like long hair because this looks more feminine, as most men have short hair.

Either do blonde hi lites or low lites which always looks great. You could also add a little strawberry blonde.
