I have been trying to build my credit up so I have applied for and have been working with a secured card for the last 6 months. i have raised my credit limit and have been paying off my current balance even though I am asked for the minimum. How long do I have to wait before I can raise my credit score to the point where I will have good creit and no worries? I always pay my bills on time because I don't like anything bills outstanding. If you could help me with this I would appreciate it.

Good credit means more than one account for more than two years with a perfect payment history and a low balance in comparison to the credit limit. 6 months of history is a good start but I would recommend you get one more credit card. Another way is to be added as an authorized user on a credit account of a friend or family member who has had the account for more than two years, has a low balance on it and has never had a late payment. You don't need to qualify to be added as an authorized user (they don't even check your credit) but the entire history of the account gets reported on your credit report, giving you an amazing boost to your credit score.

Go to www.mycreditkeeper.com . Sign up for their credit monitoring service. You can check your credit (all three agencies) once a month and costs $9.95 a month.
