My father has over 100 VHS tapes with 2-3 movies on each. Now that VHS tapes are almost obsolete, he wants to replace them with DVDs. Does anyone have any ideas as to what he could do with all these tapes without just throwing them away?

If he has two to three movies on each VHS tape then the recording speed was EP or ELP which means that the quality is not anywhere comparable to DVD, so don't bother transferring them unless the movie is not available on DVD.

You could call your local recycling center and see if they're worth any money in bulk. There just aren't many uses for them anymore. Perhaps you could give them to a local artist who uses found objects to make art.
