Not sure if the tea is prolonging it or not but whenever my little one has diarrhea his pediatrician always recommends the BRAT diet. It really helps a lot and I'm sure it will do the same for adults. It basically consists of only eating....
Bananas
Rice (white)
Applesauce
Toast (plain)
along with clear liquids until the diarrhea has gone away. Good Luck & hope you start feeling better soon!

If you are lactose intolerant, that can cause digestive issues including diarrhea.
I have IBS, so I end up with it cause of that.
I was advised by my doctor to mix fruit pectin in with water and drink that. Diarrhea causes the loss of electrolytes. Fruit Pectin adds that back in. It's by the jello section - right by the jello. It's used to make jello. Get the stuff in the packets that is jell without all the sugar and stuff added to it. Another thing that helps which is easier is drinking gatorade. That also adds back the electrolytes but you are also getting other junk with it.

Maybe you're just sick? try taking an immodium and make sure you drink lots of water, diarriah causes alot of water loss so make sure you don't get dyhydrated.
Its possible its from dairy products? Are you lactose intolerent? if so, see your doctor or get checked out for it. Avoide whatever you food or drink you think may have caused it

drink a lot of fluids. mainly water. dhiarreah occurs when too much water is pulled into your instestines. so you need to keep drinking water to regain your body fluids.
