Hey,

There are several things you can do.

1.) Don't go over 28 day late on any payment especially to a company that has your Social Security number.

2.) Increase your high credit. This mean obtain some form of credit with a high limit.

3.) Stay below half of your limit on your available credit sources.

4.) Avoid department store credit cards.

5.)Pay more than your minimum requested payment. Even $10 more consistently can make a difference.

6.) Don't have too many open credit sources. Close those that you never use - especially the department store ones.

7.) Keep the number of inquires low. Try not to have more than 1 credit inquiry per 5 or 6 months. The credit companies think that you are looking for money and the other guys are denying you credit for some reason that they didn't see.

I hope this helps - I have a 781 . You can have even better.
