Usually Jesus is depicted with long hair. How come it doesn't cover His eyes?
Is this a trait of certain races (European?) that hair stays neatly to the side?
And not just Jesus too, most men of the ages of old grew their hair long, Aragon of the Lord of the Rings, Medieval people, cavemen, Braveheart, swordfighters etc.

How do they avoid needing to cut it in front?

No; most men you see have hair parted in a spiral so it covers their eyes, and men with short hair who part their hair in the middle or side to not have long enough hair to do it. Just like a woman, Jesus and those others grew their hair long and parted it just like a girl would.
