USMC 1371-Combat engineer. Mostly demolition. They go out and find mines and clear them. They blow up anything the enemy has that help them like bridges and stuff. Mostly you will be locating mines and clearing them so that troops (infantry) can get by. Also so that innocent people dont get blown up by a left behind mine. All Marines are basic riflemen. If you do have to fire some rounds it will be out of your M-16. Or maybe a saw or 240 Golf. But you can always be a detatched Marine doing convoys or being part of a guard. So no matter what your MOS is you still might see some action.

Ahhhh combat engineers like to blow buildings, bridges and anything in sight, but most of all they also build for the ARMY.
They build and destroy under fire. Earthworks tank traps buildings and many more things to build or destroy.
No matter who you are and what you do in the army you are always a solidier and expected to fight with your brothers and sisters in combat. Ohhh its not easy to be a combat engineer its also hard work. Look at the Roman roads and bridges forts and cities built by combat engineers of the Roamn Army 2000 years or more ago.

i was a corpsman with 2ndceb from 98 till 02, a marine Eng plt, has more fire power than a marine rifle company. they do mobility, counter mobility, and survivability operations. this can range from place and removing mines, placing Concettina wire, or building bunkers and check points. depending on if you are with an fssg, or with a combat division, you will be building bridges, or clearing mine fields, or placing demolitions, we did some dog and pony shows as well.lots and lots of training

They build stuff up and blow other stuff down. They do anything from streets to bridges to floatation docks to helicopter landing pads. They build them new and then they blow them up. Their use of explosives is everyday and very hands-on. They normally do not engage the enemy - as in directly trade bullets - but they can fight if need be. Normally they work under cover away from unfriendly fire, as in mine field clearing, with support from our side. Their weapons are standard issue and so is their ammo.

ok, not strategies-blowing if women folk may well be try against engineers. (+) ~I’ve encountered opposed enemy. "ok, i can beleive this." (+) ~ I’ve used hearth and maneuver to close with and spoil the enemy. (-) "even however!" it is something squaddies might do (be it military or corp), not you, as a even though you mentioned, a try against engineer. good success on that one hun. whilst have you ever moved in a infantry unit ~ making use of hearth, manuvering to close with and spoil the enemy?
