Most cleansing should be done for 2 minutes in order for the cleanser to properly remove dirt and residue from the pores. There are huge differences between cleansers for different skin types. There are milk cleansers for normal to dry skin types and are a cream/lotion base. This helps keep the skin hydrated. There are also gel/ foaming cleansers for oily or combination skin. They usually have a foaming quality to help you rid the pores of oil. Acne cleansers usually contain Benzoyl peroxide which helps kill acne bacteria.

Read the packet that you have. If anyone says anything other than that, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. They can ruin your skin if you don't use them properly
