That depends on the cat, and the cat's 'relationship' with you. I've had cats I could take ANYWHERE with no leash, but I've also had cats that I knew should alway stay 'at home, in the house' and never go out. If you want to take your cat outside to a park, do it with a good 'cat harness' and leash first ... after the first few times, 'drop the leash' but in a way that you can 'step on it and stop the cat' if it starts to run. If you can do this 'drop and it doesn't run' for a few times, then you are probably 'safe' to take your cat to a park without a leash ... but because there are DOGS who walk in parks all the time, and their owners don't always 'leash them' even though they should, you may be 'better' to just walk the cat on a leash so you can 'pick it up and run' if a dog 'attacks' in your direction.

I would think so. If you cat likes to attack other things, like leafs blowing around or birds then I wouldn't let him go without a leash. I have 3 cats. The 2 boys don't go too far there too scared. My little girl she just loves to roll around on the cold concrete. They do sell cat harnesses

no, you cannot. the cat would definitely leave. My cats are even really attached to me but once they get outside they are in a different realm, the kitty instinctual realm. I have also leash trained them so I can take them anywhere i want really. I started taking them out on a leash when they were little kittens and now they are used to it.

Either just let the cat out or keep him in.
He will not come back to you when you call him, and if the park is not right next door he will not know how to get back.
If he is a smart cat, (and you know if he is or not) he will only go a little distance at a time. If you open your front door, he will not take off down the street.

I wouldnt recomend it because cats are fraidy cats its their instinct...Plus, as you know cats are very flexible and can fit through small places so they will most likely exscape the harnest
you put them in.
DO NOT put them on regular dog leashes cats are not the same as dogs... dogs use leashes on their collars and cats use harnest which is used around their body...
If you think your cat is bored being inside, that is not the case cats love being inside and i would recomend getting him/her lots of catnip toys(makes them go crazy), and little gym type furniture like the kind they sell at a local pet store which cost some money but your cat will be very thankful and its worth it...
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

You should put your cat on a leash, or in a cage. You want it to be safe. I used to let my cat out all the time, but then it went missing.

If you love your cat, I wouldn't. Watch out for the dogs who aren't on leashes, running amuck in the park.

Sure, cats can be trained to heel very easily. Just go to your local pet store and look for a cat training book.
