When I left my book outside, I went back out there and he was chewing it up. I always tell him "no" or "bad dog, don't do that". I don't yell at him but I tell him. If there is a soultion to this pease tell me.

Most of these answers are plain stupid. If your dog is chewing on something that *you* left out, how is that the dog's fault? Correct the problem, not the action. Don't leave things out for him to chew on and he won't chew on them. Second issue, why is your dog outside unsupervised? It's not right to get a dog simply to dump him in the back yard. . .

Dogs don't speak English so you can't tell him. You need to use an angry tone. Bring what ever he chewed to him and speak firmly. Show it to him and in an angry tone say WHAT IS THIS? In the mean time keep things away from him and give him toys he can chew (not the ones that look like things he can't chew like rubber shoes) and make sure he gets a lot of positive attention and plenty of exercise because chewing is usually because of boredom.

Dogs need to chew. Get him some rubber toys - several - and place them around the house. Play with him and toys a bit so her knows they are his. Then keep your stuff out of his reach until he switches to chewing his toys. Also get him some marrow
bones (raw) from the butcher. They love these.
Be patient. His behavior is natural and provide him with what he needs. If he chews your stuff it's because your scent is on it and he may be missing you. It's all good.

there is a spray that you can buy at any pet store that has a bad taste to it. IT works really great cause dogs dont like the taste of it.. Its actually quite nasty.Just spray it on whatever you dont want you dog to chew and should solve the problem..After a while your dog will stop chewing the items cause he will already know what happens if he puts his mouth on it. Its doesnt affect furniture or anything.so thats a plus

YOU need to pick up your stuff..... simple easy solution, if you do not want the dog to eat it, then pick it up!.... and then offer some alternatives for him/her to chew on;but never your stuff, like shoes, toys, etc. Always get the dog something of their own to chew up, otherwise they will chew everything that is convenient and within reach.

If he dislikes water then get a small water gun and when you see him go for something to chew or is in the act then quietly squirt him and within a few sessions he will understand without you needing to tell him! They are smart to not do something if the effect is not liked!

tell him no. Disaplen him. If he chews something up spank him lightly on the butt to let him know that he has done something bad, put him in a cage, bite him lightly in the ear and tell him your the boss. make him feel like you over power him do not let him over power you. Take away his favorate toys. take away things he loves so much and disipiont him the way he does you!
hope I could help

You can try to train him,or take all the things in your backyard that he will chew on , put them inside your house and let him stay outside. You can also make a doghouse for himthat he can't get out of.

Not only is it important to teach your dog what not to chew on, you should pay more attention to teaching him what TO chew on, give him some appropriate toys, kongs or soft ones and praise him when he does chew on them. So anytime he chews on something he shouldnt, firmly say NO, then replace it with something he is allowed to chew on! then praise him a lot!
GOOD LUCK!
