I have two small patches of extremely dry skin, one patch is near my thumb, and the other near the pinky. This is on both hands. I've tired a variety of creams, none of which seemed to work. I know that it isn't from the climate, it remains at the same condition throughout the year. It appears red and deeply cracked, sometimes bleeds. Usually fairly painful, and almost feels like it is deep into the bone. I've tried a lot to heal it, but nothing has seemed to work. If anyone has any suggestions on what this might be, or how to heal it, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have that too. I buy Clotrimazole Cream. It is over the counter in any pharmacy. Around 10.00. I have found from the Dr. that it is actually a virus that is the same one that causes athlete's foot. But the Cream works for me. Good Luck.

The condition you are talking about may be due to some fungal infection, or poor hygiene. Even in diabetic condition, you get you a very dry skin. What ever may be the cause I recommend you to use Forever's Aloe Liquid Soap (chemical free) for hand wash or even bath and then apply Forever's Moisturizing creme.

Put Bag Balm on the spots at night and wrap your hands. Bag Balm is used for a variety of things including but not limited to dry cracked bleeding wounds on humans and animals. My grandfather swears by it, I have used it and they use it on cow teets when the are extremely affected by sores due to milking, weather etc.

I get it on my hands every time I touch or eat pickles. It's called contact dermatitis. I use a cram called psoriasin to get rid of it.
