I've heard from friends that in the bible Theres a line about 'Not indulging in wines, but Breathing the herbs of the earth'? Or something along those lines. Can anyone link me to some sort of reference that would back up this claim, or to where in the bible it is?

Smoking is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. Christian Fundamentalists have decided that smoking is a sin based on 1 Corinthians 3:16, where we are told that our bodies are the temple of God. However, what most Fundamentalists forget, or never knew to begin with, is that in Matthew 15:11 Christ specifically says that it's not what goes into the mouth that defiles the body; rather it's what comes out - such as hate, evil speech, and lies.
If smoking was mentioned in the Bible, it wouldn't really be considered a sin. In Genesis 1:29 God states quite clearly that he made "every" plant and "every" seed to be used by mankind. This means that God created marijuana, coca (which contains cocaine), and poppies (which contain opium) for use by humans.

I don't know but remember that sometimes the bible says something like what you said but sometimes you gotta read it over and over and the whole thing because it means something else . That's why I get so confused reading the bible.

Sorry, but I am not aware of any specific verse that addresses the issue of smoking. The idea that because God gave us these bodies so we should take good care of them is mentioned however. Our body is his living temple.
