I am trying to find mining companies that I could work for that are near a major city or areas of living where I could come home each night instead of living in a bunker in the middle of nowhere?

Most of the mines near cities have no bunkhouse facilities . The miners provide for their own housing (ie. Sudbury, Ontario Inco and Falconbridge). In smaller mining towns the Mining Companies in many cases provide assisted housing for their employees family. In your case forget about the uranium mines in northern Sask. All the miming companies are operated on 2 weeks in and one week out
schedule.

most of the mines in canada r in northern canada, so u probably won't find 1 near a major city. another thing is that many times, they keep them a bit away from the city because city's rn't usualy built on a place that would have stuff to mine. if u even did get a job mining near a major city, it would b unlikly that u'd get 2 come home bcuz mining is a long job. sry.
