It depends on the severity of your condition and the length you will have the braces on. I put on braces for cosmetologic reasons, not because I needed them, and It cost me 3500.00. Thank goodness my insurance paid 1500.00!!! But, expect to pay around 3000 to 5000 dollars!! Good luck because the first two months are hell!!

Mine are costing us between $5000 and $7000 (can't remember exactly off the top of my head) but I'm going to a really good orthodontist and the cost is worth it.
One guy we went to wanted to pull 6 of my teeth but this guy has given me this thing which expands my mouth instead, so I wont loose mouth shape and all that. I'll have that for 3 months and then I'm getting my actual braces.
Our health cover should pay for some of it.. not sure how much yet though... (eep..)
The price varies between who you go to, what you're getting done and what extras you have to get done (the orthodontist only refers you to other people to pull your teeth so that costs extra) Also, I'm in Australia so your $7000 might not be the same as mine.
Good luck!

Yes, the prices vary. It depends on what type of braces (invisalign, ceramic, metal) you are getting and how much your orthodontists charges for his services. You should check with 2-3 orthodontists. Most orthodontists offer consultations for little to no fee. Then choose the one that better suits you. I am in the midwest and I am getting ceramic braces and paying $6000.

If you get a full set of braces it can cost anywhere from $2000 - $5000. But there are payment plans that most orthodontists offer that make the monthly payments very tolerable.

If you are close to a dental college it is significantly cheaper. The time you invest in the office is significantly more, however the quality of care is great. The dentist who are performing orthodontics there are specializing and getting graded for each case.
