what do you think.How do you classify awkwardness in this type of situation

awkwardness is just experiancing the fear of the unknown while in the midst of someone else with the same feelings. if it's awkward-- than that means he/she cares. So, it's not exactly a bad thing..

but to answer your question-- it can only REALLY be avoided after you know someone for a very long time, and feel completely comfortable with them

No, it comes with being attracted to someone.

Once you start being more physical with that person, the awkwardness will go away.

Yes but it is hard. I know cuz I am in love with someone and not only is he married (well he and his wife are seperated now) he is kind of my boss. I never let my true feelings show around him and only a couple of my friends know about it.

it seems to be always awkward. i had this experience at work before and i liked someone at work, even though we work at a professional level, we tend to give each other the stares and the looks that didnt go unnoticed..by coworkers, so nothing happened to that...
