All animals are constantly renewing their coats as old hairs are replaced by new ones. Some appear to shed less than others but all shed. As far as hairless cats go, I think the Sphynx looks the best they have nice strong body that feels like suede. But even cats called hairless have a little hair in places.

If you want a cat with fur...
Unfortunately, cats shed year-round; in the summer from the heat, and in the winter from the dry air generated by heaters and fireplaces. There are supplements you can give them that claim to help prevent shedding, but I haven't seen any testimonial experience to back that up.

Hairless, lol... No really... Darker colored cats tend to not shed as much. Also getting a cat with shorter hair helps. (Lighter cats tend to have more allergies too, fyi)

Chinese Hairless but they are kind of ugly. I have a domestic short hair and he doesn't shed as much if I comb his hair at least once a week instead of using a brush.

sadly, only the hairless ones.
there is a brush out that immensely reduces shedding, though.
