Hmmm......ive never heard of that one before....... but try it!If it does-please post,im sure everyone would like to try!

First things first. If your dog is shedding more than she used to, or seems to be shedding excessively, take her so see her friendly veterinarian to rule out any health problems. Diet, allergies, skin funguses are just a few of the potential causes of heavy shedding.

Next, focus on grooming your dog to prevent shedding indoors. Invest in a good medium-stiffness hairbrush and a detangling spray if you have a longhaired dog, and plan on bi-weekly brushing sessions. You may need to reward your dog a little heavily at first if she is not used to being brushed regularly or only associates it with bath time. Ensure you are using a detangler to deal with any knots in order to prevent painful pulling.

Start slowly, and only do as much as your dog will tolerate well at first. Encourage her patience for being brushed, and she will soon come to look forward to this bonding ritual. Grooming your dog on a regular basis is also a wonderful way to examine her for skin problems that can be prevented. Hot spots, burrs, and tics can all be searched for during these dead-hair removal sessions.

Another grooming tip for shedding dogs is to invest in a dog-hair dryer for post-bath blowouts. These powerful dryers blow cool air and aid in drying the coat and dead hair removal. Also, ensure that you are brushing your dog before bath time to maximize dead hair removal at this optimal time.

Not only will your vacuum cleaner thank you for these preventative measures, your dog will look and feel great and be much more fluffy and cuddly for you to love!
I hope this helps :) good luck :)

Honestly, peanut butter isn't going to make a big difference in how much your dog sheds.

Now, your dog's overall diet does make a difference in shedding. Most dogs that are fed a species appropriate raw or homecooked diet shed less than dogs fed on commercial low-grade kibbles (like what you can buy at the supermarket or WalMart). Even if you feed a low-grade kibble, you can help skin and coat health by feeding Fish Oil capsules along with their food.

The best thing to give as a supplement is a combination of Fish / Flax / and Borage Oil. You can buy the "people" brands from Target or Wal Mart. I have a large dog and she gets two of those with each meal.

The best thing about dog fur in the house is to brush your dog once every few days, and to frequently vacuum. I have a German Shepherd (and they're not nicknamed "German Shedders" for nothing!) and vacuum everyday.

Our dog sheds heavily but recently stopped- we are very surprised at the change. We are looking at changes in the environment to determine what it might be. She s on a raw meat diet (frozen chicken drumsticks and supplements) and also due to lymes disease has been taking doxycycline antibiotic. This is her 3rd course of the drugs as her lames is stubbornly hanging on. This time we are giving her peanut butter with each dose. We think it s the penny butter helping with shedding but are not sure. Maybe...

Peanut butter has nothing in it that would keep the dog from shedding. However, it IS healthy fed in TINY amounts...I have had best luck with the furminator (google it) and the Kong Zoom groom in the past...I couldn't live without these tools to stop shedding.

I honestly would think the peanut oil could help their coat shine and be more healthy. I don't know if it would stop shedding per se. However, if the dog's coat was dry, dull and generally unhealthy he would shed more. It might decrease shedding minimally or by contributing to the dog's health.

It doesn't make them stop shedding. But if they swallow fur when they lick themselves, it makes it easier for the fur to move through their digestive system.

No it doesn't work, the best thing you can do is get air filters, vacuum a lot, brush your dogs everyday OUTSIDE and give them hair cuts.
