Vitamin Biotin. Helps with the nails, too. Suggest starting with 500 mcg or 1000 mcg and see how that goes for a few months, then up the dosage if it doesn't upset your stomach or create any other unpleasant side effects. I used it for a hair re-growth program, but at a very low dosage. Since I'm having trouble with my nails, I've just started taking it again - at 5000 mcg (3x per week to see how it goes...).

You might also look into softer brushes that will cause less breakage of your hair follicles - a natural boar bristle brush. That will also make your hair shine more (because your natural oils will be more dispersed), therefore, you would have to wash your hair more often. I cut down on the static by using a touch of water (less breakage of hair again).

I also use a very expensive laser comb by Spencer Forrest. They are probably out of most people's budget. They run $600, can be purchased on eBay, and are great for hair re-growth (from natural hair loss), and it re-instills moisture to the hair, helps it to grow faster, and makes it baby silky to the touch.

You can't do anything to make your hair grow faster. Hair goes through several stages, the growing phase, resting phase, and shedding phase. If you are having trouble getting your hair to grow past a certain length it may be because you have a shorter resting phase and you shed those hairs as newer hair grows in to replace it. If you want long lovely hair, you can try clip ons if you dont like extensions or maybe even look at hairpieces or weaves. Nothing wrong with any of it, we all love to gild the lily :-)

You may carry the gene for medium length hair.
Perhaps if you followed the advice of the other 'responders', your hair will keep in good condition, then let the hair grow over 6 months, instead of 2 months.

Nothing does, I'm afraid. Take biotin tablets, as they make hair healthy and it's less likely to break at the ends.

Eat a lot of protein: chicken, fish and beans. When I was eating lots of protein for exercise, my hair grew faster.
