Well. Balsamo is a Greek word and is a Medicinal Herb.
The exact name of the herb is : in Greek (Balsamo) in English (Hypericum Perforatum).
These days we use to call balsamo what ever we found to be good for our health, based on beverage coming from herbs.
In our modern way of talking, for example can be a cap of hot tea, and you need it badly. When you drink it you can say. That was balsamo for me.
Means that was very good for my health.

balsamo has no tagalog translation but embalsamo has.
maybe it sounds like that thats why he said that.
it translates to embalming.

yeah, balsamo has tagalog (filipino) meaning which translates to medicine. there is medicinal concoction available in the philippine pharmacies, and the name of the concoction is "balsamo carminativo." this cures abdominal pains and indigestions, and the taste of this concoction is very nice. balsamo carminativo was known to the1900 s ancestors of filipinos too.
