People keep asking this question.
To make a long story short, the early apostles agreed that the only parts of the Law of Moses that still applied to the gentiles under the New Testament were the ones that were strictly moral in nature, but not those that merely served to set apart Israel as a nation (Acts 15).
In case you are wondering which is which, Jesus, Peter & Paul tell you by giving specific lists.
Notice that Paul expressly condems homosexuality as a sin in at least two of his lists.
Jesus, Peter & the other apostles refer to sin in more general terms (like Jesus saying that "sexual immorality" is still a sin under the New Testament).
---------------------------------------
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
~1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV)

Oh Schneb, you homophobic bigot
Someday I'm sure you'll learn tolerance... or at least I hope so... maybe... well I guess you probably won't.
Christianity (and most other religions) simply can't be non-hypocritical, its really just impossible to keep up with the times, their book was written 2000 years ago by a society with vastly different principles, but its much easy to condemn another group than it is to self restrict, so I imagine that is part of it.
I also think its funny that christians always use the quote above me as justification when in fact that quote (even though it holds no bering anyway) was really referring to those who overindulge in sex (the city of sodom as a whole, not just the gay ones, sodomy was coined after that terminolgy and incorrectly i might add). Talk about misinterpreting and taking things out of context... a favorite arguement among theists.
Paul (who made this whole new testament up anyway) was homophobic and thus anti-gay thought multiplied, spreading among the insecure and weak minded....
And stop using procreation as an arguement people, in fact stop procreating, theres enough people already!

You are talking about two different things. The haircutting thing and the many many other laws were made by the Jews, and did not pertain to the original commands of God. Jesus was born and raised a Jew yet he said that he was observing Jewish customs only so as not to offend them. (re his baptism). Gay marriage or gays having a sexual relationship outside of marriage is specifically forbidden as being an abomination (which means against natural laws). God created a man and a woman for a reason. They were meant to be together, to procreate. I am not against gay people. They are human beings created by God just as I am but to sin by practicing something that is against God's natural law is wrong.

well it is true there are many laws in the old testimant that were used and had a purpose for the jewish people at the time and Christians tend not to follow them for one reaon there is not a need to live that way any more since we are under grace through Jesus Christ but as far as homosexuality that is forbidden as well in the new teastement we look at laws as something we have to do as a chore but in actuallity Gods love for us is what brings about his commands his commands are best for us so we can live a better and more productive life on this earth that is already filled with enough problems that our out of our hands why add anymore to them.

Many Christians claim that the Deuteronomy laws were done away with by grace, all except homosexuality apparently.
However, I do find it interesting that females have no problem using Bible verse against homosexuals, when the Bible does not speak very highly of them. In the New Testament Paul states that a woman is not permitted to speak in church. Today, we have women who lead church congregations, yet I rarely see anyone pulling verses out of context to use against them.
Also, Jesus himself states that divorce is not permitted (except for unfaithfulness), and leads to adultery. Yet, I rarely see anyone pulling that passage out of context and using it against divorce.
It is all very hypocritical.

Well, I'm a Muslim and I'm not against gay marriage at all. I think gay people should have the same rights as well as straight people. If homosexuality is a sin then it is not for us humans to treat badly. We should hate the sin not the sinner. I have gay people as my friends and I love them all.

First off, alot of things in the Bible are archaic and are for the ancient Hebrews who didn't grasp the concept of "the spirit of the law". You don't have to follow it by the letter (that's what the Hebrews did and look what they did to Jesus). The reason we are against gay marriage is because it IS in the bible that you shouldn't do it.

Homosexuality is condemed in the New Testament as well.
Human sexuality goes beyond the laws of the Old Testament. You can hardly compare hair length to homosexuality.
The first command given to us by God was to mulitply and fill the earth. Homosexuality goes against that command. That's just for starters, it wrong any way you look at it. It goes against the call to procreate.

This is not just an old testament thing, it's condemned in the new as well. Also, you don't have a lobby group and media stuffing it down your throat every day demanding acceptance. Or a YA group constantly calling you narrow minded, bigoted or homophobic.
Marriage is a sacred vow made before God. It is a type of Christ and the church. It's just one more encroachment.
