I've got them coming every week! I let them in and make them a cup of tea, aqnd then argue against all their ideas (politely) I repeatedly tell them I am never going to be a jehovas witness, but they still call every Friday morning! Anyone else have this anomaly and how do you get them to accept your decline of their help - they believe we dont have souls - and that hell doesn;t exist *WOW*

At times, a question such as this will elicit dozens and dozens of elaborate schemes to spare a householder an unwanted conversation with Jehovah's Witness door-to-door ministers.

All such schemes are a complete and utter waste of time!

Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)

Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20).

You can tell them nicely that you're not interested in talking to them anymore and they will understand. The truth is they want to help you to see what the Bible really teaches.

"And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul." - Genesis 2:7
A man is a soul.
"The soul that is sinning—it itself will die." - Ezekiel 18:4
We're not immortal. There's nothing in us that survives after death.
"In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.” - Genesis 3:19
What was Adam before he was created? Dust. Where did he go after he died? To dust.
Where was Adam before he existed? Nowhere. Where did he go after he ceased to exist? Nowhere. He just decomposed.

The Genesis 2:7 says that Adam became a soul. If you read carefully you realise that dust+spirit (breath of life, the spark of life)=soul (man)

Hell (Sheol, Hades)=common grave of the humankind; it's a state (not a place for eternal torture)

Heaven/Paradise was on earth and will be on earth. Jehovah God did not change his purpose for the earth and mankind on it after Adam started the human race down the path of sin and death. Had God done so, it would have meant that he was not able to carry out his original purpose. His purpose from the beginning was to have an earth-wide paradise filled with happy, healthy people, and that purpose still stands.

Well it sounds like you enjoy visiting with them. I know that I enjoy conversing with people about beliefs. I am a Witness and if someone invites me in to discuss Jehovah I will gladly do so. If you do not wish to have these discussions then stop having them in for tea. Explain to them you do not wish to talk, they may need to be told twice since you have been having conversations for weeks and it might be hard to imagine you not enjoying the interactions. Hope this helps.

PS Thank you for being kind.

if you are not interested, just tell the Jehovah Witnesses to put your name on the do not call list and they will not return for two years. I am getting tired of people who know nothing about us, saying we are a cult. learn what a cult is. they worship man. we worship Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ. we are not pest. we are doing what Jesus Christ commanded at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. why don't use visit a kingdom hall and see what we are all about. the doors are open. yes many kingdom halls don't have windows, my kingdom hall does. the reason is that it is cheaper to build. but we are not hiding anythiing inside. www.watchtower.org. by telling the witnesses not to come back, they can go to another home and find someone who will be interested. if you come to the door naked, you will be the fool. by the way, hell is just the common grave. it is nothing more. you don't burn in hell, it is the coffin. you can give me all the thumbs down, but Jehovah is the True God and Jesus Christ is his son and we only follow them.

If you don't want them to continue returning, then ask them politely not to. They will mark it on their list of 'do not returns'.
There is too much territory to cover to find those who may be interested to continue returning where there is no hope of interest. and by the way, you don't have a soul, you are one! If you would study the Bible and learn what it really teaches, you would be amazed at how much your love for our awesome Creator would grow. We never said that hell does not exist, but it simply means the common grave of dead mankind, not some fiery place of torment for disobedient mankind as portrayed in Dante's Inferno!! God would not torture any of his creation. The Witnesses that continue to call on you must feel like you are worth their time and effort and you do invite them in and even show hospitality by making them tea. You are certainly giving them the wrong message if you truly don't want them returning! All we can do is plant the seeds of truth and water them, it is up to Jehovah to make them grow! (If the soil is right).
I would like to ask you to continue to study with them. Don't be so closed minded that you miss out on the opportunity to gain accurate knowledge and really get to know Jehovah.

John 17:3: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. "

Notice in the following verse that it does not say "burn in hell", it says "should not perish" meaning cease to exist...so there is everlasting life, or everlasting death, but not suffering for eternity in a fiery hell.

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Hi, years ago when i was searching for meaning and purpose in my life i invited two JW's in to my home, they were very nice and i was surprised at how much i liked one of the ladies. They visited another 6 times and read books and pamphlets, then one day i started to feel very depressed at what they were saying and i realised i had to say please don't come back, this isn't for me, and after they saw i was serious they never came back.
When they knock on the door now i have answers because i know what the Bible says and they usually give up pretty quickly....
Having said that i have read on hear that if you ask them to put you on their don't call again list, they note it and your off their list...and did you know they believe they have to earn their way in to Heaven, and they do that by getting invited in to peoples homes...(if this is not true i sincerely apologise to every JW) please correct me... hope this helps you...
EDIT: Geoff E, your so funny....

Edit no 2..i received 3 thumbs down for this answer...no-one has let me know if i'm wrong if you can prove it tell me please...other wise leave my answer alone ..thank-you..

Your experience proves that politeness is something they are so unused to, they cannot get beyond it to the words you are speaking. They take your politeness to mean you are in sympathy with them and are agreeing with them. This is because they are trained to deal with hostility and persecution - they've been told to expect it - by the bucket-load. They thrive on antagonism. It feeds their persecution complex. Be nice to them and they are astonished! It's such a rare, pleasant feeling, it's no wonder they keep coming back - with tea thrown in, at no extra charge!

You sound like a lovely person. Take comfort from the fact that for the duration of their weekly visits to you, they are not pestering people with shorter fuses. However, if it's time to end those calls, do it by producing your copy of the Bible and insist they stick to ONE passage of scripture you choose - none of their literature can be used - and talk only about that one passage. No butterfly flitting around from Genesis to Revelation! Just talk through it, verse by verse, considering context and see how long they can stand it.

When they come to my door, I tell them that I'm secure in my religion but thank you for sharing yours. It takes 2 minutes and that's it. I don't argue with them over beliefs because they have the right to theirs. They are always respectful when I tell them this.

My friend told them to get off her doorstep or she'd turn them into a frog.

Another friend invited them in to help them choose the napkins for his wedding to his non-existent "cousin, Barbara Lou from Alabama". They got out of there quickly.
