Use the leanest beef you can buy (3 lbs meat) and have the butcher slice in 1/8 inch pieces. Buy a prepack of peppered seasoning or any kind that you like. This can be bought at a sports store or sometimes in your local grocery store, or KMart. Follow directions on package. Lay your meat in a single layer of wax paper and put seasoning mix over meat then turn meat over and put more seasoning mix over then just keep turning until seasoning is mixed really well. Put in a container and cover and season overnight. If you have a dehydrator, layer meat and cook for at least 41/2 hours. Take out and put in baggies and refrigerate. This is the best jerky you will ever make.
Good Luck.

I work for Basspro wholesale and sell the jerky products to several of my stores everyday! You can buy everything you need in 1 place! Seasonings of choice, dehydrator that fits price range, and even get recipes! You won't be disappointed!

Id suggest purchasing a ronco dehydrator. He makes beef jerky on the infomercial in a snap. That Ronco is an amazing inventor.
