The only thing that never changes, is change. Even in change we find life and creativity. The Earth has fallen to ice ages many times. After every ice age, a new and diverse ecology is created (different plants, animals and aquatic life) completely different from the last. Natural disasters, are mechanisms of change.
Give some attention to the weather patterns, in the south eastern US, and you will notice a lot of moisture coming from the pacific Ocean. This moisture travels to the Central and North American Continents. In a global warming world, it would make sense that the Earth, would respond by trying to grow another rain forest. Just as your immune system would respond to an infection by producing more white blood cells.
It also appears that the earth wants this rain forest to be where the extended season will do the most good. That is in the South Eastern United States.
If man will let it grow it would remove CO2 and be the second temperate rain forest in the United States, the first being in Oregon.
If you want to try and make some sense of it, this is the best answer I can come up with, excluding Karma. I would include both Karma, and/or the families inability to foresee such an event.

Personally? I don't think God can't handle everything at once, nor can any/every Deity for that matter. A universe is too big and there's too much to keep him/them busy with.
The world we live in is also a free-will zone. Random events happen, and we react according to those events, for good, bad, or indifferent. Was it a test? Perhaps. Or was it just a sad occurance? Possibly. We'll never know.
Nonetheless, it's not God who decides what will come of tragedy, it is we. Do we loot the affected town or reach out to help those who lost their homes? It's the reactions of after that he/they is/are looking for, and the Karma we earn will be tallied in the end.

God allows a lot of suffering but He also prevents a lot of suffering. There is seen and unseen. Think about all the times the tornado did not hit any buildings. He is in control. It might not sound fair, but the main thing is to be ready go. Because once we are here, we will go one way or another.

As to destroying a house of worship...the church is made by and belongs to people. It is only "we" that refer to it as God's house. It is after all just a building. No more, no less.
Yes, I'm sure you are right about many people dying, some of which may have loved God. God does not control or cause natural events on the earth, i.e weather etc and he never says that he will protect us from harm. His promise is that no matter what happens to us, he will make it all for our good eventually. Believers that die are not being punished. They are being rewarded.

Whats the point of living life if you expect your favored Diety to protect you from all it has to offer.
Why do WE think that to be loving one must be a carpet of compassion able to lay down and cover that which is hurtful and abohorrent reguardless of the consquences.
Nature is indiscriminate. It knows neither color, race, national origin, sexuality, or age. Does that make Nature Evil?
Likewise, Had God intervened here or on allof the world natural distasters would we truely respect the awsome power his creation? Not likely. Just because he refused to stepin doesnt, mean he doesnt care. We have to live our lives as we see fit, and by doing so we must accept all the inherent risks, dangers, and ill effects along with the good, and if he stepped in allthe time, would we stil say we lived at all?

God allows us human beings free will. It's not unthinkable that God might also allow a certain amount of "free will" to nature, to run its course.
Also, just as humans are victims of the Fall of Man (Adam and Eve's sin) and a fallen world, nature and creation are victims of the same fall. Therefore, we have weather which is harmful to us, such as blizzards, tornadoes, etc.
Also, the power of Nature hints at forces in the universe that are more powerful than us humans, forces such as God, Satan, Time, and Nature itself. Being subject to such powers keeps us humans humble, and aware that some forces we just can't control.
Of course, God can intervene if he wants and stop Nature in its course. That would be miracles. But God is not obligated to provide miracles, and he's not obligated to protect us from life all the time. He is only obligated, if we call on him, to be with us in the midst of the storm. It's up to him whether or not he chooses to calm the storm.
And that seven-year-old girl--as painful as her loss is to her family and friends--is most likely enjoying God's company right now.

you are able to worship The LORD of Righteousness contained in the call of Jesus the Son of God or you'll worship our God Jesus Christ the Righteous to the glory of The Lord of Righteousness. both way The LORD our God The eternal Father Jesus Christ the Righteous Tsuvah Mashiach, a severe Priest continually in accordance to the order of Melchizedek is the in reality door to the Righteous Father (John 10:9, Isa. 9:6). Revelations 14 could properly be crossed referenced with Col a million:16 to exhibit the Jesus Christ the Righteous created all issues made. Now, Revelations 22:9 obviously shows that the only talking is an angel.
