You do not bathe them, allow the mother to clean them until they are older. They do not need bathes right now. During the first few weeks of life, puppies may easily become chilled. Newborn puppies can not generate enough heat to keep their bodies warm and have not yet developed a shivering reflex so newborn puppies can die if they get chilled. So, bathing them now can harm them. Is this a chance you are willing to take?
Once they are four weeks it should be okay.

You can very carefully and gently bathe new born puppies. I don't advise it unless there is a reason. However they can be bathed using warm water under the faucet be careful that they do not inhale the water. If you are trying to kill fleas, NEVER use flea shampoo with newborns or the dam. Instead you can use a sulfa shampoo that is a quick kill for fleas but leaves no poisonous residue. Yo can also wash the mother in that. Make sure you rinse it off thoroughly

If you feel your puppy needs a bath, then use a puppy friendly pet shampoo and if it is cool in your house, then while the puppy is being bathed toss a towel in the dryer. When you are done the bath process wrap your puppy in the nice warm towel, rub him as dry as possible and then use a hair dryer on low cool heat to dry the rest of the way. If you take these precautions then you should be fine. Remember to rinse, rinse, rinse to make sure you get the shampoo out so your puppy does not get dry skin. Also give him a puppy shower not a bath, as you can never be sure to rinse properly with bath water. Using the kitchen sink with a sprayer is a great idea. Good luck and enjoy your new puppy!

lol@some of these answers..If they are just born I would wait a few days before you bother them..other than making sure they are safe..as to move them if they should get behind mommy or move to far away from mommy..What I do with my new borns is use puppy wipes that you get from any pet store. I wipe them off every time I weigh them..that is every day . Don't let them get to chilled, make sure the room is kept warm for the newborns. I do find the puppy wipes work wonders on new borns. Makes them smell better too. Matter in fact I use them clear up to 8 weeks old..

The mother will keep them clean until you wean them, but as soon as they are no longer nursing she will not. That is when you take over for her.
Use warm water, and warm water only. Shampoo not completely rinsed out (which is about imposable) will make the pups sick because they will ingest it.

Momma does that.... I wouldn't attempt it because she has scented them and the bonding is very important... I would wait at least a week... and then only wipe them with a warmed cloth... They really don't need to bathed yet...

You leave that job up to the mother dog. She cleans them herself. She may reject them if you take them away from her to bathe them.

Why do you want to bathe them, are they dirty? The mother usually licks them clean.
