Yes. I rescued a white lab (young, about 3 months old) from the shelter. I had him for a week on a special diet, we went to the vet, etc. I then took it to my GFs house and asked her to watch it for me while I did an errand. She tied it up outside, and when I got back, it was gone.
I later married her, had 3 kids, divorced her, and my oldest just gave me a grandson. I never saw the dog again... :(

yes i had one of the best dogs she was about a year well behaved really sweat i was out of town and had her in front of truck when we stopped to eat locked truck andwhen i came back she was gone truck was fine notheing else taken i looked for her for over a week and balledlike crazey still miss her
