my bday was March 3 (happy birthday to me!!!). there are some things that you and your mom can do. you might want to go down to the monuments, historical tour sites, and if you like to shop, georgetown is the place for you. (tell dad to leave the credit card!!!!!)

I do not get your question. Are you asking what can you do in DC. Why would your mom not be ok alone? Why is living on the east end and being gone for a week be relevant to your question. If your looking for places to go in DC pic up the City Paper. www.dcnights.com

COOL! My birthday is march 19th!!
Well its only if you feel you should, and its not bad to leave your mom home alone! Mabe she would like to. Just ask your mom how she would feel about it, and if you really want to enjoy your birthday with someone you could always bring your mom with right?
