Tell him you are interested in dating him, but be sure you are OK with rejection. If you want to keep the friendship no matter what happens, let him know. Just be honest, but please realize things will change, either for the good or bad, just hope its good, and if bad continue the friendship and it will repair.

That is not always a good situation to be in. Trust me i know exactly how you feel. But the best thing to do is be flirty kind of tell him that you like him without telling him, if that makes any sense. Then see if he tries anything, if it takes him to long to get the picture then just say it. I hope that helps and good luck

Tell him you need to talk to him in private, go somewhere where he feels at ease and calmly tell him the truth. You can never go wrong with honesty. Don't let shyness or fear stop you nobody has ever died from honesty.
