More than likely it is a scam.

sounds like a fraud clearing house. If they are contacting YOU, be very weary of giving them ANY information. Fraudsters have alot of clever schemes these days and some relatively intelligent people have been scammed.

One of the better ones is that they would send you a check for your winnings and tell you to cash the check and send them $900.00 of it so that they can release the rest.
(they are giving you an advance to pay the taxes).
SO they send you a check for 3k, you 'cash' it and send them $900 and then the supposedly send you the rest 50K or whatever....
well what happens is you cash that check and it goes thru your bank....you send the 900 as soon as possible and then the bank calls you in 10 days and informs you that your 3k check bounced.
Now you owe the bank $3900. (the 3k they sent to you plus the $900.00 that you sent to them).
