I love this stuff. It doesn't damage your hair, none of their products do. It works really well. I have stick straight hair and I put it in when my hair is damp and let it air dry. It gives a wavy look to it which is great. It is not expensive but it is not cheap. It is a middle of the road price point, but it is high quality. It doesn't smell like salt at all really. It may react the same way as salt water but it is made up of chemicals that smell much better. If you are worried you can use a body spray over the top of it, I prefer VS love actually, it will cover any product smell... which is small to begin with. I get my Bumble and Bumble from my friend who is my hair dresser and a certified bumble and bumble hair stylist. They will carry it at any of their certified salons in your area or at any nice hair or beauty supply stores. I highly suggest checking out their other products. Their shampoos and conditioners are amazing and I urge all to try them.

You can purchase Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray at Drugstore.com

It is not my favorite for the following reasons:

1. Expensive- $24 for a tiny 4 oz bottle

2. My hair was a mess

I would recommend John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea Spray instead. Smells fabulous and gives that tousled look, without feeling like you've dunked your head in the ocean. It is discontinued, but you can find it if you hunt around a bit on-line (Approx $6 for 6 oz).

Its not a product that changes your hair permanently. it helps you get the "just home from the beach look" I'm not sure about the smell though I highly doubt it's offensive. Iknow that avon sellsa product similar to it and it works well. Go tot the website and you can find a salon that sells B and B products.
