Redirect him him to a favorite toy. Find lots of favorites &
always have them at hand. Don't yell, say "no", firmly not loud and get his mounth going on something else. Remember that in nature wolves and wild dogs do not have leaders which yell orders like the military. They use body language and sometimes a snarl. Usually, the leader just has to throw a certain look and the underlings cower of move off. If it gets to a fight, then the leader is perceived as very weak and probably is.
Remember your puppy, though large, is a puppy and is probably teething like crazy. Get rawhide chews, rubber toys he can't destroy or a kong and fill it with soft food and freeze it. That will help keep the teeth and mouth busy.

I just went threw the same thing I have a six month old Akita. One thing you can do is give him acceptable chew toys, every time he chews on something he should not have in his mouth replace it with his toy, let him know it is his toy and when he gets his toy praise him. Teach him one term to correct his behavior. My dog knows NO. About those teeth, whew I was so glad when the sharp puppy teeth feel out, they should start 4 to 5 months so you are almost there. The best thing is just to be consistent, even if you are tired, and he will learn, they are very smart and at this age they are trying new things and pushing their limits. Just make sure the dog knows you are the PACK LEADER, they are the followers and you will be alright.

give him a stuffed animal that is just his that he can chew on ... when he does bite on you or anything other than his stuffed animal ... meerly thump/flick lightly slap his nose and tell him no and hand him to his stuffed animal.
i think i have a rotweiler too but not 100% sure .. ive had him aobut 2 months and i just broke him from chewing on my couch....
also my grand ma did this for the great dane she had .... she put like a medium sized chunk of wood into a tubesock and tied the end so the wood was stuck into the sock and he would sit there and chew for hours and she didnt have to worry about picking up the little splinters of wood ... and he didnt need / want to chew on any thing else...
a few tips from one dog owner to another

Hold his mussle closed and say no biting and then give him something that he can chew on... You have to be PERSISTANT.. Never let him bite anything that hes not supposed to and hold his mussle closed make sure hes looking you in the eyes and say NO BITING and give him his bone or chew toy... he will get it eventually, hey who said owning a puppy was easy! =) good luck to you and your pooch...
oh keep in mind that a rotweiller is a dominant breed so he will become alittle agressive if not told other wise =)

When he bites put your hand our is snout (not hard enough to hurt him) and firmly tell him "no bites." Within an hour or maybe sooner he will understand that he is not to bite, at first he may think that you are playing and try to bite you again but just repeat the no bites routine and in no time you will be bite free! Good luck

that is a typical puppy. In your case it is a little more difficult because of the fact he is a rottie. And you need to keep him from biteing. So I would buy a muzzle. when he bites put the muzzle on him for 5 minutes. do this every time he bites. within a few weeks you should find him looking to see if it is alright to bite. that is when you say if you bite you get the muzzle. He understand. make sure you say it when you put the muzzle on. you will find him learning quick.

You should buy some bitter apple spray. Spray it in his mouth when ever he does something undesirable and tell him firmly NO.
If he is biting your hands spray the bitter apple spray on your hands and he will learn no to touch your skin.
Spray items you don't want him to chew on as well.

my greyhound used to do that. Buy some Bitter Apple and rub it on your arms and hands or where ever he bites you. (make sure you have a fresh supply on all the time) when he bites he will get a mouth full of nasty. My puppy figured out that biting=gross taste in mouth and he stopped.
