I think the answer to that really depends on how you wear your hair. If you prefer to wear it down all or most of the time, then you could get layers as short as chin length. I wouldn't go any higher than that, in the front anyway. It could start to look mullet-ish if you do that. If you have to wear your hair up, in a ponytail, or if you prefer to wear your hair up you have to think about how long it needs to be in order for it to stay up. If you cut it too short you'll just have pieces falling out all over the place. I'd suggest going into a salon and telling them exactly what you said in your question. They're the trained professionals and they will know what will and will not look good with your features and face shape. They'll also be able to tell you at what lengths the layers have to be for you to be able to put it up. Hope that helps!

That furry bit above your ear... is led to via your ear. if your hair is short adequate, the hair won't fall at as quickly as down and it will style of mildew on your ear shape. i've got had a similar situation earlier when I first get my hair decrease yet after it grows out some, it is going away. What I do is get the Garnier anti-humidity hairspray and supply the climate of concern a splash spritz, enable it dry, and run a broom by way of it earlier I straighten it. The hairspray won't make your hair look weird and wonderful and it would not make it no longer ordinary or crispy, in spite of the undeniable fact that it is going to save the at as quickly as look longer than huge-unfold (for me a minimum of).

don't get your shortest layer shorter than shoulder length. your stylist can also texturize your hair in the crown area for more volume up there.

dont make the layers shorter than shoulder length unless youre going to get bangs. try layers that have the shortest one beinga couple inches below your shoulders. maybe get it angled too to add more body
