That before you speak, it's a good thing to ask yourself: Is it kind, is it true, and is it necessary? (Truly, a soft word can turneth away wrath...)

The 15% Rule: That roughly 15% of any given group are people that the other 85% would rather not have in the group in the first. place. Also, that those 15% are usually the most vocal and get the most press. (I've seen it again and again in all sorts of groups, and keeping this in mind helps me to suffer fools more gladly.)

Everything goes in cycles. Everything is transitory, both the good and the bad. (While this thought can bring sorrow at the thought of pleasures lost, it also brings comfort when there's a lot of pain in life.)

That you have to love others unconditionally no matter what. People including my own family have said the most hurtful things to me for absolutely no reason at all but I can easily forgive them. If I had not learned to forgive these people then I would hold grudges and God would never forgive me for anything and I could never go to Heaven. It was a good thing that so many people offended me because now it is easy to forgive everybody no matter what they do to me.

That we are nothing without our creator - we will end up as dust after this very short life. But if we obey Him and do His will (trust in His son as our Saviour) we will live forever with Him in His own
abode (greatest place that the creator of this universe prepared for His reborn children).

Speak softly but carry a big stick. Most people are liars. And those that say they aren't are lying. Most people will lie to: hurt someone, help someone, or for money. Most people are about 1/3 of what they say they are or less. Most people are self-centered, self-righteous, and self-serving.

There are though many truly good people, but you seldom see them.

The best lesson I have learned is to say "no."

You can end up with way too much on your plate if you don't.

Everything ends. Even though my love and I were enormously happy together for almost 12 years, his death from cancer separated us. So find joy with what is now, with little thought about tomorrow.
