I have a PowerPoint presentation on my computer, and I want to connect it to my TV downstairs, but I don't know how or if that is even possible. I have a laptop that I could upload the presentation to, but otherwise, I have no idea how to do this.

you should be able to connect the laptop to the tv with an SVideo cable, and set the display to "display 2" from you desktop settings. It will then show on the tv.

If your video card or laptop has S-Video, then go that route. DVI to TV if you have an HDTV with DVI would be even better... but for VGA, your best bet is to get a scan converter which helps reduce the flicker and blur that happens when going VGA to standard def.

you need to get a s-video cable.
