Most people come to a point of wanting to know more...
especially after something tragic happens in their lives.
I am sorry about your loss.
It may comfort you to know that your friend is not suffering in any way. (Ecc 9:5,10) But also that there's a hope for loved ones to live again. (Acts 24:15;Ps 37:29)
Did you know that our Creator has similar feelings as you do ? He wants you to become closer to him. But he also wants to become closer to you. (James 4:8a)
How do we go about doing this then ?
God communicates with humankind in a written form. Yes, the bible.
So by studying his words, you will come to know him and in that way draw closer to him. You will benefit not only now by in the future as well. (2 Tim 3:16,17;John 17:3;Rom 10:13;Ps 83:18)
So in what way can you study ?
You can systematically, subject by subject, use a biblebased publication entitled: What does the bible really teach?, together with your own copy of the bible.
I would be glad to get you a copy of this book. It's free of charge with no obligations.
If you're interested, contact me at volunteerteacher@hotmail.com and I'll arrange for you to get a copy as soon as possible. :o)
And of course, I will not forward your private information with anyone else without your permission.

advice? so you wanna be closer to God....
1) ask Him. You want to be saved, get saved. Accept Christ as Lord and Savior, repent of your sins, and there you go.
2) spend time with Him. Reading the Bible helps you know a lot more about God. But don't take everything at face value. You see that Jesus died, ask why? answer: to pay for man's sins (it'd take a whil for me to explain why it had to be done that way)
You see that people died in masses for sin, ask why? answer: because sin creates a spiritual barrier between us and God. There's a rdeeper easoning behind every lesson.
3) Join a Bible-based church, a mission, a Christian group, or become an evangelical (not officiall part of one church, but on who shares Christ's goodness with others).
and keep that feeling. trust me, it's a good one.

It's only natural to feel vulnerable and come face to face with your own mortality when something like this happens. Surround yourself with friends and family who have a close relationship with Christ. If you don't know anyone like that, visit a church and perhaps speak to a minister about your concerns. Reading the Bible is great, but without a Christian's understanding, it just might confuse you more.
Read John 3:16-17. That just about sums it all up.
Salvation is a gift from God. He sent his son, Jesus, to die for our sins. If we realize we are sinners, and we truly repent (are sorry) for our sins, we can ask Jesus to come into our heart and be our Savior. Our lives don't change overnight. It is a work in progress. We still make mistakes, but know that God will forgive us our sins if we are truly sorry for them.
I don't want to preach...just know that if you don't act on your desire to be closer to God and be saved, your heart will eventually grow cold and you may turn from God and be left to live and die in your sins.
God loves you...He loves us all. Accept the gift He offers, then go tell others about what Christ has done for you. Delivered you from your sins by giving up His life on the cross.
God Bless You and don't quit seeking the Lord.

You first of all need to pray and ask God to forgive you for all that you have done wrong, and ask him to come into your life and become your Savior, and you will have the most wonderful reassuring feeling inside of you that there is some who loves you for who you are and is there for you every second 24/7 and you need to realize that no sin is too great for God to forgive you for, and there is no problem too great for God to fix and hje loves to help you and be there for you every second you need it.
He created you in his own image and doesn't want to change anything about you. So after you pray and ask him to come and be with you and help you through all of the circumstances in life. The you should go out and find a church ( it might take a while to find one that fits you, but just keep visiting different churches and soon you will find one perfect for you : ) and then you should go out and buy a bible for yourself and then as you read the bible you will learn more and more about who this God really is that you are living your life for and it is the most AMAZING thing you will ever read in your life and after you read it , you inner spirit is lifted and you are just so happy : )
while praying ask God to help you with your friend situation and ask him to help you release the anger or grief you have inside : ) if you have any comments feel free to e-mail me i'm here for ya : )

It is a good sign that you are showing an interest in the things of God. Salvation is a total work of God, you can do nothing to gain it or earn it. If you recognize your sinful state, your inability to do anything about it and your need for a savior, Christ, it is a pretty good sign that you are indeed one of the elect, the called out ones. Those who are spiritually dead, have no interest in the things of God, will not admit they are totally depraved and need a savior. Seek out a good sovereign grace church, one that teaches salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Begin reading the Scriptures, start with the Gospel of John, learn of Christ, your savior. God bless you and keep you in your journey towards your Heavenly estate.

Hi,
Congratulations on your choice to be saved. It is your choice! The fist thing is to ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, ask him to direct your life, and try your best to live for him in a Christian way of life, and then repent. Repenting is asking God to help you redirect your life in a path that follows the Ten Commandments. It will be helpful to find a church that is Christian that actually teaches the word of God. That means it reads and studies the Bible. Many so called Christian churches do not teach the Bible. You'll want to avoid those, because they appear to be Christian on the surface, but don't really delve into God's word to see what he wants to teach us. The Bible is a very powerful and wonderful book of history and truth. To really know what God is like, we need to know his mind, and the only way to know God is to study his word, and once you learn who God really is and what he wants for your life, you'll be able to see clearly what you need to do to be blessed by God. Being saved is the easy part. Living a Godly life is a bit harder, but God will never fail you. Keep asking for his help and guidance and he'll see to it that you are placed on the correct path. Jesus is the way, the truth and the "LIFE" no one comes to the Father without Jesus! Welcome to the Family of God!

I recommend mixing a ginger ale with a 4oz bottle of Robitussin Long Acting. This take you to a HIGHLY SPIRITUAL realm where you can literally find the answers to anything, especially religious reasoning. You'll be soaring for about 4-5 hrs so do it at night be for you go to bed. Then just relax and let your mind explore your religious world. Question it. Challenge it. Take advantage of it. I recommend this to anyone who wants answers that lurk within them. Its a wonderful exploration tool when use appropriately. Guarantee that you will have an amazing spiritual experience and find other thing that apply while your at it.
Peace

My condolences for you on the loss of your friend. That must be very painful, especially if you are quite young, which I suspect that you are.
Simply ask God to save you. If you're ready to believe in Jesus, ask Jesus to save you. You can use your own words as you ask God to do this for you.
If you need help with the words, you can say something like this: Lord God, I need to be saved. I need to be closer to you. This feeling has gotten stronger ever since my friend died. HELP! [Notice that so far these are your own words.] I believe that Jesus is your Son and that you sent him to save us. I believe in him. God, I love you, and I trust that you love me. So please save me, and please be with me now and forever. Thank you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
If you want more help from me after this, please PM or e-mail me.

The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Chapter six, verse 23 says, " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." That means that everybody is deserving of death because of our sins. Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." But God provided a way of escape by sending His Son to die on the cross for us. Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." All you have to do is ask Jesus to forgive you and believe on Him. Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Anybody can be saved. All you have to do is follow what these verses say. I hope that they have been a help to you.
