Cats are EXTREMELY territorial. This is true even for spayed/neutered cats. I can almost guarantee you that they will NOT get along. And the visiting cat will be exposed to an extremely stressful situation. It's worth it to go through this process for a permanent addition to the household, but never for a temporary one. By the way, it can take as long as 6 months to a year for newly introduced animals to even tolerate each other, let alone get along. Cats are just too easily stressed by drastic changes in their environment. And to put a cat that has been an only-cat it's entire life in a multi-pet household will be downright terrifying for her. Believe it or not, the best thing you could do for your sister's cat is to leave her in the home she is familiar with and visit with the cat once daily. She will be perfectly fine and much better off than in a kennel or in a strange enviroment with other territorial cats. Just be sure that the cat-sitter visits the cat at least once a day.
If you absolutely must take this cat in, the best thing you could do for it and your resident pets is to completely isolate them from one another. This will make it far less stressful on all parties involved. Good luck.

Probably not at first, but usually they will get use to each other
if you just leave them alone and give them time.
My suggestion........put the "visiting" cat in the bathroom w/ door closed when nobody is home and let them roam free when there
are people home to intervene should there be a problem.
Its only two weeks.

It will be a lot of stress on the introduced cat. If it is only for 2 weeks, the cat would be happeir if you went over and fed it and played with it daily.

It may take them a while to get used to eachother. You should do a trial run to see what happens. Have the cat visit and observe bahaviors. Otherwise it may be a long two weeks.

They will get along eventually =) it may take up to 2 weeks to get along... but dont worry too much about them getting along... its not like she is staying with you forever, just make sure she eats/drinks and uses the litter box... i would put her in a room all by herself for the first 2-3 days with her food/water and litter box then start introducing the other kitties to her, but dont expect her to like the doggy =) my kitties still dont like my doggy and its been more then 2 weeks since i adopted my dog. I mean he tries to play with them but they dont want anything to do with him =) i hope this was helpful... just remember that if the new kitty doesnt like the other animals then to just keep her seperated from your animals until her mommy comes back to pick her up =)

Hey, no one likes uninvited company, it will take time for everyone to realize whats up. Keep visitor in seperate room and give her a day or so to get adjusted to her surroundings. Tell her she aint getting my bed and she better wait her turn when the vittles are served. I'm number one in this household and what I say goes. Ya hear?
