I have this rash on the side of my neck, it started out small a few weeks ago, and now has covered the whole right side of my face. It has become very painful and itches uncontroably. i tried using various creams and powders, but it only seems to make thing worse.

Haven't been near any poision ivy lately right? I would go to an urgent care if you can't get to your doctor in the mean time I would put some calamine lotion on to cool the itch and then maybe some cortisone cream during the day...try hard NOT to itch with your nails but rather rub gently if you must with the pads of your fingers....itching with nails only opens the rash up more and then it can be spread by what gets caught on your nails to other parts of your body.....sounds really gross to say this but make sure you never scratch with the same hand you do "personal" things with....you'd REALLY hate it if you got the rash there and it would be embarrasing to have it examined if it did spread.

Short of seeing the rash I am going to guess that due to the itching it may be one of two things: eczema or a fungal infection. Ordinary over the counter creams are not effective against eczema, you have to see your primary care physician and get a steroid cream. The cream will relieve the itching and clear up the rash in a matter of days. If it is not eczema i suggest that you cease all use of after shave, shaving cream and deodorant soaps on your face. Purchase a bar of Basis soap and use that only. Basis is hypoallergenic and very easy on your skin.

Make an appointment with a dermatologist, i think it's just gonna keep getting worse until you see a specialist.
