It can be normal if you have been blowing your nose a lot. This irritates the inner lining, causes blood vessels to rise to the surface and rupture more easily, as does the pressure of blowing the nose. Pack it to stop the bleeding, and don't worry unless the bleeding does not stop within a reasonable time.

It's a combination. Partly due to a simple vein in the nose. Higher blood pressure when you sneeze breaches the vein wall. I had one cauterized to stop frequent nose bleeds in the winter and from a rise in blood pressure. When sick or raw, the dry tissues would crack the vessels coming from my sinus floor. I had the procedure about 10 years ago and maybe have only one a year now. I was very happy with the results after healing. One thing I wish I'd had tried is warm nasal rinse.
A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It soothes with warmth, it draws out the entire gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean, but without the eye stinging). It will help with nasal dryness and also heal damage.
Buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot
You can do this as often as you like with no side effects

I'd say that it is some what normal.
Also nose bleeds can be cased by dry air which is common in winter (depending where you live), allergies, to much blowing, ect.
Some treatments are, try having a humidifier in you home, also try not blowing so much, if the bleeding gets bad enough I recommend seeing your docter. That could help a lot.

Hi!
I think it's normal for people who have frequent nose bleeds or who have nose bleeds related to allergies. When I sneeze, I have nose bleeds as well. When I went to the doctor, she told me that it was allergy-related and my nasal passages were sensitive, which causes nose bleeds. I think the same goes for colds. I doubt it's something to worry about--I think it's completely normal. But when in doubt, seek the doctor out!

It's been cold this winter, and in cold times like this, sometimes the skin inside your nose(like everywhere else) gets dry and fragile; when this happens, and you sneeze, a nosebleed can sometimes happen.

it is not uncommon, but if you are using a nasal product to treat that cold, I'd stop using it.
