Consider the violent acts of church-going folks in the segregated South. Consider other examples of godly people acting in wrong ways. Perhaps religious morality needs to be revised.

I guess it's true that "All sin and fall short of the glory of God"
But if we rely on society that's no good either. In ancient times people who worshiped Diane used to sacrifice babies and put them in jars and place them in the foundations of their houses for good luck. Society said it was OK.
Or look at how Germans handed over jews for slaughter. Society said it was OK.
Lots of blood on lots of peoples hands.
