I adopted my dog from the humane society about 1 week ago. They said she was a pit bull. I am just wondering if you think she looks like a pure breed? Or a mix? She is 47 pounds. There are pictures of her here: www.dogster.com/dogs/490160

Beautiful Dog!! Congratulations on a good find!
She looks purebred to me. Pits come in all shapes and sizes. The old school working dogs were a lot less blocky then the types we see bred today. She looks like a fine example of a good balanced dog.

She looks like a mixed breed to me, probably a pit bull/lab mix or a pitbull/springer mix. Her nose is awfully long to be a pure bred pit bull.

American staffordshire terrier mix would be my guess. She has longer legs than a true pit bull and a narrower chest.
