is she Australian? i can't think of any other reason for your question to be under the General - Australia and New Zealand category.

If she stuck up for you then she obviously likes you and even if it's not in the same way as you like her she's unlikely to hold anything against you. In my experience if guys have asked me out and I haven't said yes it isn't always because I don't like them but just because I prefer them as friends or I'm not ready for a new relationship. Basically what I'm saying is it's probably best to try asking her because the worst she can say is no and the likelihood is you'll still be friends afterwards.
As for how to ask her out you could just tell her how you fell about her and ask her what she thinks and whether she feels the same or wants to take it further. You know her a lot better than I do so I'm sure you'll know the best way!
Good luck : )

I think this girl has an opinion of you that may not be to your liking.
How do you dress and are you a friend instead of a possible boyfriend?
How do you talk to her? Are you respectful and treat her right.
Maybe she doesn't see you as a boyfriend but as a friend only.
Remember boyfriends come and go, but friends last much longer.
Ask her out, but if she says 'no' keep your cool, thank her and try again later.
Look at how you present you (self) to the world and ask yourself would I want to date this person?????????
If you dont like what you see in the mirror why would she like it?
Change is necessary in us all, so ADAPT, IMPROVISE AND OVERCOME soldier!!!
Good luck man.

When you see her on her own. Then ask her. Not in front of other people. If you can only talk to her when she is with other people it will be just a little bit more difficult. You could try asking if you can talk to her for a minute. If she says no, then just say o.k. but thanks anyway. Then wait till you can ask her on her own. It is then up to you how often you want to do this HTH LOL
