How can people explain when in Genesis, God banished Adam & Eve's son, Cain. Cain left and found another city and married and had children. Where did these other people come from? And where did the other races come from? Did one race evolve into another race? So does that mean that some races are more evolved than another? A question still waiting to be answered.
This was my answer to another question, and I thought it would make a better question. I am not ridiculing anyone's beleifs, I am just curious on how Christians explain this to non-beleivers. Thank You!

Another thing, even if the Bible does say that Adam and Eve were not the only ones created, they were just the first, then wouldn't the other people created have been original beings as well, not born into sin yet?Wouldn't they have to go through the fall like Adam and Eve did?

The whole thing is a fable.
But "literalist" "Christians" are in fact forced to admit that God must've sanctioned incest back in those primordial days in order to populate the earth. (And to those who argue "the bible doesn't say God didn't create other people" - are we really ready to start hypothesizing based on what the bible *doesn't* say? Because in that case...) As for the diversity of races, there are certain specific biblical characters from whom are said to have come certain races, as is standard in mythology.

Yes, we all came from Adam & Eve. And the Bible says they had other sons & daughters. No mention is made of how many. It was not a sin to marry close family at that time and is not mentioned in the Bible as against the law until Moses' time. The human race did not have a degraded gene pool at the begining so there was no need for the incest laws.
It is also not mentioned how many people went with Cain when he left.
At the tower of Babel language was confused. Groups went their seperate ways. The Bible doesn't say about the different skin tones & facial features, etc that each race has. But after each family/race isolated themselves their gene pool would have been lacking certain genes that others had. No "evolving" just different gene pools and environments. No race is more evolved than another. We are all equally depleted, not evolved.

Genesis does not say that Cain and Able were the only descendants of Adam and Eve. Adam lived to the age of 930. Think of how many children you can have with that much time. Genesis also does not say that Cain and Able had no other siblings at the time Able was murdered by Cain. Just because these people were not yet mentioned doesn't mean they were not around. After his crime, Cain was compelled to relocate to a place called "Nod" where he met and married his wife. This could be no other than one of his sisters. Genetically, this would not yet have been a problem since all involved were direct descendants of Adam and corruption had not had enough time to effect human genes.

I was reading Genesis a couple days ago and thinking about that.
First of all we know that Eve was the mother of all creation and the fall of man came through Adam and Eve's sin. So there is no way to me that God created a bunch of other people and placed them on the earth. I noticed the lineage of Adam was written down from his third son Seth who was born I believe about the time Adam was 130 years old. I believe that Adam and Eve would have had daughters who are not mentioned in the bible. Because the gene pool was perfect in the beginning brothers would have been able to take sisters as their wives. A lot of people could have been born in a hundred years or so, before Cain killed Abel. I personally believe that the different races came about when God confused the languages and people spread out from each other.

No, just Eve so far.
How many species of homo sapiens have you counted? The relation of race to evolution is still a divided question in science and in some religions.
So far as I know, those who think race is an evolutionary or religious path all believe that they are the most evolved. So I am surprised you did not give us the answer.
If you will read the story with care you will find that Cain did not find a city. Rather he founded a city. If you accept Genesis there were no other races. Many say Cain took one of his sisters to wife. I would say he took one of his half sisters to wife? Now all you have to answer is who did Eve sleep with besides Adam?

Well Adam and Eve had lots of other children and so the world had to have been populated through their children. They both lived to be almost 1000 years old. Cain could have been banished for a very long time, in enough time for his other siblings to grow up. As for races, the colors of our skin has no significance. A white woman could easily have a totally black looking baby with a black man and vice versa. I just saw a woman on TV who looks totally white and maybe even European but her mother is a dark black woman and her father is white. Our skin colors could easily change in just 1 or 2 generations to a whole other color. I think the different colors came about when God made all the different languages and separated the people.

It's been scientifically proven that to maintain a healthy species, there has to be at least 32 creatures that can reproduce. So, just Cain and his wife couldn't possibly have propagated humankind. But, in defense of Christianity, it's assumed Adam and Eve had alot more children, and/or there were other humans God created after the first two. As for the evolution of races, humans started in Africa and migrated to other parts of the world. The change in climate made us adapt differently and at different rates, so we all look different now.
To tie the two concepts together, I guess Christians could claim that Adam and Eve were banished to Africa? Oh well =P.

In the Bible it says that Adam and Eve had children.. A LOT. so then they had other children which other children and so on... therefore they fled to other parts of Israel....That is how we became to have all these different cultures, races and believes... so basically we are descendants of Adam and Eve. (according to the Bible)
P.S. Take it for what it is..and don't get mad.

Yes, according to the Creator we all come from these two first humans. Evidently they had within their DNA the possiblity to produce all "colors".
Cains wife might have been one of his sisters or possibly a niece.
Back then humans were closer to perfection and to populate the earth God permitted these realations. However, after a certain time, humans becoming less perfect, he no longer permitted close relatives to have sexual relations and have children.
Noah had 3 sons. Ham, Shem and Japhet. They and their families moved in different directions of the earth and all humans evolved from these. Black, Caucasian, Asian etc etc.
When one particular "color" group-up and reproduce, their offspring tend to look similar. The more of the same kind of genes, that kind of child it will be.
As for race, it's one and all - the human race. A bunch of beautiful flowers in Gods' grand boquet !!!

The fact that this is a myth is evident from the Bible itself. If the author of the Adam and Eve creation myth was really trying to convince people that "this is the way it really happened" they wouldn't have left so many errors, loopholes, and omissions in the story. But when you're writing a Fairy Tale, you don't have to make sure that all the facts line up. You don't have to explain where the other characters come from. You're just telling a story.
