I own a house with 5 stories, 1 lightbulb, and 3 light switches. I can only go up the stairs once, and I need to find out what switch turns on the lightbulb. How do I figure that one out?

I dunno why I can only go up once. I have nothing in this house. Not even a flashlight.

The lightbulb is on the fifth floor, and the light switch is on the first floor.

Flip switch 1 and leave it on for 2 minutes then turn of switch 1 and turn on switch 2...then run up the stairs

Reasoning:

If you go into the room and the light is on then it is obviously switch 2.

If the light is off, but the bulb is warm, then it would be switch 1

If the light is off and the bulb is cold, then it is switch 3

EDIT: Maybe she can only go up once cuz she is wheelchair bound and really isnt walking up the stairs...she has to pull her self up the stairs....with her teeth!

Flip the first switch, then go outside and look at the windows on the fifth floor. If that doesn't work, repeat the process with the next switch. Etc.

The solution most people propose, about leaving the first switch on for five minutes, then turning on the second switch won't work because if it is the third switch, you'd need to come down again to turn on the light.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems pretty straightforward to me.
You start from the ground floor and work your way up. Whenever you come to a lightswitch, you turn it on. If the light doesn't come on, you turn off the switch and move on to the next switch. If you want to know the best way to see if the light is on, you need to do it at night, open the curtains in the room where the lightbulb is, and every time you turn on a switch, go to a window and look down.

You turn one switch on for five minutes then turn it off and flip a second switch. When you get upstairs you feel the two lightbulbs that are off. the hot one will be the first switch and the one on in the one that is flipped currently and then the cold bulb is the switch you never turned on.

JUST FLIP ALL THREE SWITCHES AND SINCE YOU CAN ONLY GO UP ONCE, YOU REALLY DONT CARE WHICH ONE WORKS THE LIGHT. BUT AT LEAST YOU KNOW WHEN YOU GET TO THE TOP, THE LIGHT WILL BE ON!

turn on one switch then if there is no light turn on the other and if there is still no light then turn on the other!! (you never said the light was on a different story then the light switches!!)

Easily enough, just turn two of the light switches on. Wait a while, and then turn one of them off, then quickly go up the stairs. One light will be on, one off, and one off but still hot.

this isnt an answer to this question -- but you asked in my question how to get green anoles..

you have to buy green anoles in the pet store. They change from green to brown though, to make sure of this get them green in the store. They turn brown when they are fightened, unhappy, or cold.. so most of the time if you dont take care of them they will be brown.
