Quality Street is a popular selection box of individual sweets manufactured in Halifax, in the United Kingdom by Nestlé.
The bags the candy come in are purple color tones and the cans are also in purples. Do a search on "Quality Street" and see for yourself.
The co-worker was making fun of you and hoping that you didn't know what he meant by that rude remark and know you do.
Sorry!

The purple one is the biggest chocolate in the Quality Street box. Probably not a compliment - sorry.

Since a Quality Street is a type of candy (a wrapped peice of chocolate) I would take that as an insult (LOL) Thanks for the giggle.

They probably thought the colour a bit bright or not suitable. But, there you are, we either dress to suit ourselves, or dress to suit somebody else. If I go out on my own, I dress to please myself. But if I am social with other people, I dress to suit the occasion. Maybe they were right, maybe not. HTH LOL
