obviously take it to a vet if it gets really bad, but otherwise, give it lots of attention and make sure it cant make it worse ( dont let it climb trees and stuff) and give it lots of treats. good luck.

It sounds like it has an abscessed wound (puncture or bite?) - cats are particularly fast healing, which is why sometimes after a puncture (claw or tooth) it seals over on top but germs are inside, causing infection/swelling, etc. You can try to open the abscess yourself - put some epsom salt in warm but not too hot water, and soak the leg - the idea is that the wound will open up if the scab/covering is loosened. But if there's already a lot of swelling, it's probably already painful to the touch, you might not have much luck. Take it to a vet ASAP, they may have to "lance" the swelling to let out the infection.

This sound like an abcess which is very common in injured cats as cats naturally have toxins on their teeth and claws which infect the opposing fighter. Try taking him/her to the vets for the abcess to get drained. it a painless procedure and the cat will feel alot better for it.

well give you're cat a bath and check for injuries if their are no puncture wounds and it is just swollen you may want to take it to the vet if their are puncture wounds apply a little antibiotic ointment and give iot a day or so it might drain but no more then 3 days OK

I agree, a trip to the vet is in order. Fractures and breaks need to be set in order for them to heal correctly and keep the cat from having lifelong problems.

first of all, you need to determine if there is any type of cut or anything that can get infected. Also, there could just be something stuck in the paw..........that could cause swelling.
Personally, I would just take my cat to the vet.... they are trained professionals.

well u can start off by leaving your cat in the house.... and take it to the vet to make sure it is okay so they can give it the proper treatment. Meanwhile you should try to give it a comfortable environment and make sure it stays off its leg
