How do you get over someone you love? Is it step by step or is better to do it all at once? What about if you see that person almost everyday? Should I stay away from him a while? I love him but he says he only sees me as a friend. I can't accept that. For some reason I keep holding on to something that can never happen, and I am not okay. I want it to happen, but everyone except him tells me it can't. I need to hear from his mouth that it could never happen, but I feel in my heart, however that it can. People keep telling me that i'm young and there are so many people out there, and I know that but why can't i try it with him? I feel bad because I know he cares about me and loves my personality, but I don't understand how he can't feel the same about me when everytime we talk or laugh, it seems like it really could be and i know i don't imagine the looks he gives me or flirtatious gestures, so then why can't I be the one to make him smile? I know I can, because I've done it already..

with time.

You will never get over the person. You just do this. Put them into a tiny little box, stash them in your heart, Lock it up and throw away the key, and remember the beautiful times you had together.

Time-It takes time to get over your past love, It is definitely not a all at once situation, it is not good that you see this person everyday because it only bring back old memories so if you can avoid seeing this someone try to my dear. If he told you that he can only be a friend then you gotta take that, not saying just give up cause maybe later he may want a relationship who knows. It is true what people tells you, you just have to accept the fact it is nothing more but just a friendship. You just build up alot of love for this someone and now you're heartbroken but you have to get over it and it will take some time. Sometimes things don't turn out the way it should to start an relationship together so just be his friend, just because he doesn't want a relationship be his friend like he said he was to you.

All I can tell you is if all he sees you as is a friend then leave it at that. You can't make someone feel a certain way when you know it will never be. However, you should talk about it with him cause only then will you know the deal. Don't be afraid of hearing it, the truth will set you free, I know it sounds corny but it's true. All those looks you get are normal but remember they're only looks, they are not felings so what he sees and what he feels are totally different. Letting go is hard but YOU have to be strong and give all you got. GOOD LUCK :)

There is no cure for a broken heart other than time. Don't ignore your emotions however. Grieve if you must. Write in your journal, Paint a dark painitng, cry. You just have to let it out and not hold back. Time will then take over. But look forward into the future more than into the past.

It takes a while to get over someone completly. If you guys broke up on bad terms that best way to get over it is to think of all the f*&*ked up things he/she has ever said or done to you. Taht will make you get over what you dont want anymore. I dont believe that a couple can break up and be friends and get over each other. You have to be distant for a while not forever but eventaully you will be able to look at them again as a friend

you need to get him out of your system i don't mean completely block him out of your life because that would hurt more than it does now but when u see him try thinking of him as a friend not what u want him to be, it's easier said that done i know, if it feels awkward then u could try talking to him (almost never works) or just try forgetting about it and your feelings towards him (NEVER works)

Why chase after something that is not there? Leave him alone for awhile and see if he miss you.....maybe he just need to realize that you are something more to him then just friend, and if he see you everyday he is not going to realize this.
I know it is hard but keep your mind and self occupied! go out with your friends, or do something to get your mind off of him for a while. just for a while!

I think you should stay away for a while. He might not even want to talk to you if you push the subject. And if he wants you as a friend then accept it because if you dont you will lose him and it sounds like you two are good friends.

Maybe give it some time and stop trying to make it happen, instead just let things happen on their own and let fate have its way as things should be, and then I think everything will be ok.

I was in this exact situation once.
It sounds stupid, but all you need is time.
Because most things aren't actually as bad as you think they are at the time.

Give it a few months, and you'll be over it.
Now's the hardest part.
